As a technical director and coach, Coach Markiya has had the privilege of working with various teams, including Soccermasters, Brekum City, Walewale Catholics Stars, Akatsi All-stars, Kpando Hearts of Lions, and the Soe Community team, among others. His tenure with the Soe Community team has been particularly noteworthy, as he has led them to victory in numerous Community Games organized in Bolgatanga Central, lifting trophies and bringing pride to the community.


What sets Coach Markiya apart, however, is not just his success on the field but his commitment to the holistic development of his players. By day, he is a respected teacher at one of the best senior high schools in the Northern Region of Ghana, imparting knowledge and values to his students. By afternoon, he transforms into "the boys' father," a motivator, and a mentor to his footballers, guiding them both on and off the pitch.


Coach Markiya's coaching philosophy is built around hard work, determination, and teamwork. He believes in nurturing the potential of each player, pushing them to excel not just as athletes but as individuals. His approach has earned him the admiration and respect of his players, colleagues, and the wider community.

Most recently, Coach Markiya's expertise and dedication have been recognized with his appointment as the Assistant Head Coach and Head of Youth Development of Yendi Sankara Nationals. This new role will undoubtedly provide him with even more opportunities to shape the next generation of footballers and contribute to the growth of the sport in Ghana.
